Five killed as Police arrests bandits kingpin, 21 others in Zamfara
Zamfara state command of the Nigeria Police have arrested a notorious bandits commander, Bello Mazan Kara, along with 21 suspects and killed five other bandits.
Zamfara State is in the northwest Nigeria and one of the back spot in Nigeria where activities of bandits have been in the increase despite government efforts to curtail killings in the region
A security officer who spoke to NEWSng said some of the suspects were identified as those that masterminded and terrorized the people of Zamfara West senatorial District.

Parading the suspect at the police headquarters in Gusau on Saturday, the commissioner, Mr Ayuba Elkana said Mazan Kara was arrested by gallant troops.
According to him, Mazan Kara was one of the notorious gang of bandits, led by the Turji group who later formed his deadly gang after they were separated.
He disclosed that the command in their efforts to rid the state of crime and criminals, reiterated that the curfew earlier announced from 6pm to 6am in the 13 local government areas, is still in force.
CP Elkana also banned vehicles using tinted glasses, tricycles and motorcycles carrying three persons.
He maintained that the curfew in Gusau metropolitan was extended from 12pm to 6am, warning that any person found after the stated period would be arrested.
