Five killed as Terrorists Fired Rocket Bomb in Maiduguri 1 hour to Buhari’s State Visit

Ahead of the state visit to Borno state by President Muhammadu Buhari, Terrorists suspected to be ISWAP/Boko Haram Elements has lunched Mortar Bomb attacks Against Population Living around Ajilari Cross and  Bullumkuttu area of the state destroying houses and killing a 16 year old maid.

The Communities affected were located less than five Kilometer away from Maiduguri International Airport and Air Force Base.

NEWSng observed that this attack occurred less than an hour prior to the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari in Maiduguri.

According  to the source five explosive devices launched from yet to be identified locations had  landed in Ajilari Cross which is about  five Kilometer to the Airport and Bullumkuttu a Community Less than two Kilometer both from the Air Force base and the Maiduguri Airport.

It was also confirmed by a member of the Civilian Joint TASK Force that a 16 year old girl was killed by the explosion when it hit the house where she was working.

Another source further stated that four other people have been killed, while several other people are said to have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the explosion that hit the city this afternoon.

Members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were seen carrying the corpses and the injured to the hospital as at the time of this report.

Also reports from Kaleri area of the state revealed similar situation as security Operatives were also detailed to the area to calm residents who were angered by the continuous firing into the city by suspected terrorists.

Reacting to the incident, residents told NEWSng that there is nothing they can do again than to come together to continue to pray for God to intervene. According to them, what is happening is a sign that the government has failed because no government would allow such killings of its citizens if that government means well for the people.

“If you are listening to the radio you can see that there are protest here and there all because of the killings going on in the country and the President seed to be very comfortable with what is going on because the perpetrators are his kinsmen.”Modu Alhaji a resident of Maiduguri said.
