Gas Explosion Triggers Deadly Fire in Kano, One Dead, 21 Injured

A tragic fire incident occurred at the residence of Malam Isiyaka Rabiu in Goron Dutse, Dala LGA, Kano State, on March 10, 2025, after a gas cylinder explosion ignited a massive blaze, leaving one person dead and 21 others injured.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that l the fire broke out at approximately 2:30 PM on while food was being prepared for Iftar (breaking of fast). The explosion, which originated from the kitchen, quickly spread through the residence, trapping several occupants inside.
Sadly, Ibrahim Sani, a 14-year-old boy, died on the spot, while 21 others sustained varying degrees of burns and injuries. The victims were immediately evacuated and rushed to:Gamji Hospital, Dala Orthopedic Hospital and Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital.
Firefighters worked tirelessly alongside the police to contain the inferno, preventing it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Preliminary findings suggest that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder explosion. However, authorities have launched a full investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
