GM, Yobe Flour and Feed Mills Commends Buni’s Revival Efforts

The General Manager, Yobe State Flour and Feed Mills company, Potiskum, Alhaji Abdu Shuaibu, CNA has commended the state governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON for the various interventions he provided to ensure that the company is revived and bounced back to optimal functioning capacity.

The General Manager, who spoke to NEWSng in his office said several measures put in place to re-invigorate the company is in line with Governor Buni’s strive to create job opportunities, reduce idleness and avert restiveness among youths in the state.

“We thank His Excellence for all the bail outs he provided to company, and entrusting me and my team with the task of reviving the company. I am optimistic that when become fully functional will contribute in immense ways toward socio-economic development of our state,” Shuaibu said.

The General Manager revealed that the Governor’ s supports have almost come to fruition as the factories’ mega machines that were grounded are now active, while staffers are now refreshed for bigger task. “The only challenge is now the working capital, ” he added.

Shuaibu said the company was able to record this success because of the Governor’s prompt response to any requests put forward by the company, citing as example the award of contract for the urgent rebuild of the company’s perimeter fencing destroyed by hoodlums during the last nationwide protests.

The General Manager applauded the foresight of the governor in trying to attract investors to augment the company’s working capital.”Plans by the state government in that direction are already in top gear, from our side we were also encouraged to invite investors and partners, the moment this is actualised the company will rebounce back to full activities with minimal challenges,” Shuaibu said.

The General Manager said with his coming as the spearhead of the company he has injected some noble ideas, re-activated the grounded equipment, and reorganized his team, affirming that they will justify the confidence reposed in the by the state governor.

Terrorists suspected to be affiliated with ISWAP detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Mandafuma Bridge, located along the Biu-Damboa road, at approximately 2:20 AM on Tuesday.

The explosion completely destroyed the bridge, severing the link between Mandafuma Village and Biu Town.

This act of terrorism was aimed at disrupting movement along the route, impeding access for both motorists and passengers. It also serves to hinder military reinforcements traveling through the area.

Nine Killed in Otukpo Attack, Manhunt for Suspects Underway

No fewer than nine persons have been confirmed dead following an attack by suspected armed herdsmen in Otobi District of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident, which occurred at about 1900hrs on Monday, was reportedly carried out by about 40 armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, who invaded the community and opened fire on residents.

The sources disclosed that several others sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack and were evacuated to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo for treatment.

Security forces have commenced a manhunt for the assailants, with bush combing operations ongoing in nearby areas to track down the perpetrators and prevent further violence.

Bandit Leader Kachalla Namadi Killed by Rival Gunmen in Zamfara

A notorious bandit leader identified as Kachalla Namadi has been killed by unidentified armed men suspected to be members of a rival gang near Kangon Fara Mana village, east of Magami town in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on April 11, when Namadi was reportedly on his way to visit a widow in the village, believed to have been the wife of a deceased bandit.

It was gathered that several gang members were interested in marrying the woman, but Namadi had insisted that she be given to him, a demand that allegedly provoked resentment among the rival group.

Sources said the assailants, believed to be fellow bandits, laid an ambush and shot him dead before he reached his destination.

Kachalla Namadi, who was based in Madada village, in the Dan Sadau district of Maru LGA, was known to have terrorised communities in the region. He was also said to have fathered over 50 children.

His death is seen as part of the growing trend of internal rivalries and violent clashes among armed bandit factions operating in the North West region.
