Gov. Buni Approves Employment of 158 Community Nurses, 393 Student Nurses To Enjoy Monthly Allowance

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe state, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has approved the employment of 158 community Nursing graduates of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.
The beneficiaries are graduates of two sets of community Nursing of the college.
Similarly, Governor Buni has approved the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to 393 students of Yobe state origin, undergoing National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programmes at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.
The approval indicates that 67 of the benefitting students are also entitled to 11 months arrears of the allowance.
It also explained that the 326 new students of Yobe state origin undertaking Basic Midwifery and National Diploma in Nursing programme, are to start benefiting the approved N10,000 monthly allowance.
Governor Buni urged the newly employed health personnels to be dedicated to serve the people better.
He charged them to key into the reform programme of the state government to provide efficient, accessible and affordable medical services to the people.
The Governor also called on the students to study hard to justify the government’s investment in them.

Troops of Sector 1, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have rescued a kidnapped victim following a swift response to a suspected terrorist attack in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources disclosed that the troops, deployed at Abaji, acted on a report at about 1:45 p.m. on April 21 regarding an attack at Tumataa community.
On arrival, the troops engaged the suspected terrorists in a gun duel, forcing them to abandon the victim and flee the scene.
The victim was successfully rescued and has since been reunited with family members.
The sources added that troops are sustaining operations in the area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.

Troops Arrest Illegal Arms Manufacturers, Recover Weapons in Plateau

Troops have arrested two suspected illegal arms manufacturers during a raid on a criminal hideout in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 5:00 p.m. on April 22 at Gwandanu Village, following credible intelligence on illicit arms production in the area.

According to the sources, the suspects were apprehended while actively engaged in the fabrication of weapons.
Items recovered during the operation include two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, two generating sets, a welding machine, a drilling machine, a hand filer and a toolbox, among other items.
The suspects are currently in military custody pending further investigation.

The sources added that troops have intensified efforts to mop up illegally fabricated arms in the general area as part of ongoing operations to curb criminal activities and enhance security in the state.

Irate Plateau Youths Attempt Attack on NSCDC Facility, Troops Intervene to Avert Crisis

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully averted an attempted mob attack on a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost in Plateau State, following unrest triggered by the detention of a suspect.
Security sources told Zagazola that the incident occurred within the operational area of Sector 6 under Operation Enduring Peace.

The sources said troops responded at about 11:00 a.m. on April 21 to intelligence indicating that irate youths had mobilised to attack and burn down the NSCDC outpost in Vom, Jos South Local Government Area.
According to the sources, the youths had gathered in protest over the detention of a suspect and were reportedly attempting to carry out jungle justice, as well as destroy the security facility.
Troops, working in collaboration with other security agencies, swiftly moved to the scene and dispersed the crowd before the situation escalated.

They also provided adequate security cover, enabling the safe evacuation of the detained suspect to the NSCDC headquarters to prevent further unrest.
The prompt intervention of the troops ensured that no lives were lost and the facility remained intact.
