Gov. Buni Assures Support to Nigeria Correctional Service

Yobe state Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has assured support of the state government to the Nigeria Correctional service.

A statement from Mammam Mohammed, DG Press and Media Affairs to the Governor revealed this in Damaturu, when the governor received the new controller of the state command, Controller Yusuf Sambo, who paid him a courtesy call.

The statement said the Correctional service would be added on the list of the state security council for proper coordination and working synergy with other security organizations.

The new Controller informed the governor that the service has the capacity to correct the behaviours of inmates from criminally oriented behaviours to become good citizens.

He appealed for support from the state government to make the state command more effective.

Yusuf said the inclusion of the service on the security Council would facilitate sharing of vital information with sister organizations for proactive approach to possible security threats.
