Gov Ganduje Appreciates Warm Reception by President Buhari in Daura 

   – As issues bordering on non-availability of new Naira notes, fuel were tabled before the President

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state led a powerful delegation to President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Sunday, and briefed him on the public worries about issues bordering new Naira notes, non-availability of petroleum products and poor distribution of the product. 

A statement from Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State said, “President Muhammadu Buhari was briefed on public concern about new Naira notes, lingering shortage of fuel and poor distribution system of the product. 

“The concerns were presented to Mr President as presented to us as a government, by our business community, Ulama (Islamic Clerics), legislators, our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional institutions, women and civil society groups,” he reveals. 

The non-availability of new Naira notes, the governor, lamented, paralysed commercial activities in the state.

Governor appreciated that, “President Buhari appreciated our civilised approach to the issues. And has already directed for the extension of the deadline given earlier. He also directed for the increase of quantum of new Naira notes to Kano and all banks across the country.”

He added that government and people of Kano state must thank the President for the good gesture and would welcome the President for the planned commissioning of some mega projects in the state. 

Some of the projects to be commissioned are multi Billion Naira Cancer Treatment Centre, 10MW Tiga Hydro Power Plant, Dala Inland Dry Port, Kano State Aliko Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre, Kano Grid Solar Power and Muhammadu Buhari Road Rotary Interchange.

The delegation to the President comprises Senators Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and Barau Jibrin, House Leader Alasan Ado Doguwa, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Alhaji Hamisu Jingau and Alhaji Ibrahim Yakasai BBY represented the business community.

Others are Sheikh Qariballah Nasiru Kabara, leader of Qadiriyyah movement, Sheikh Sayyadi Bashir represented Tijjaniyya Sect, Professors Garba Sheka and Binta Jibrin represented the academia and Shehu Muhammad Dankadai represented the traditional institution.
