Government suspends Emir for turbaning Bandits Kingpin as ‘Sarki Fulani’  in Zamfara

Traditional Ruler, who turban a wanted Bandits Kingpin on security watch list as ‘Sarkin Fulani’ has been suspended by the Zamfara state government. 

A statement from Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna (Lamidon Kaura Namoda) Secretary to the State Government said the government of Zamfara state distanced itself from that arrangement where a Bandit can be accommodated in the manner expressed by revered traditional Ruler in the state.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public the Zamfara State Government has dissociated itself from the alleged turbaning of a Sarkin Fulani by the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area. 

“In this regard, the State Executive Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON (Shattiman Sokoto) has directed for suspension of the Emir with immediate effect.

“Accordingly, the Executive Governor has approved the appointment of a Committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the action of the Emir. 

“In the meantime, Alh. Mahe Garba Marafa, who is the District Head of ‘Yandoto is hereby assigned to take charge of the affairs of the Emirate.” The statement said

The composition of the Committee is as follows:Hon. Yahaya Chado Gora as Chairman, Hon. Yahaya Mohd Kanoma , Hon. Muhd Umar B/Magaji , on. Lawal Abubakar Zannah  and Isa Muhd Moriki (Rtd P/Sec) as members while Barr. Musa Garba G/PSec.  MOJ to serve as Secretary of the committee.
