Government to complete all projects in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has pledged to complete all ongoing projects once they have been started and commissioned, as well as the new projects, for the benefit of the people of Yobe State.

Briefing the journalists shortly after the EXCO, the state Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Hon. Abdullahi Bego, said the second term inaugural State Executive Council meeting was presided over by Governor Mai Mala Buni at the council chambers of the Government House, Damaturu.

Governor Mai Mala Buni charged the commissioners to work as a team and add value to government activities, knowing that every ministry is an integral part of the administration’s system of governance.

Abdullahi Bego said the Yobe state government will pay more attention to the provision of palliatives to the people across the state in view of the removal of subsidies on petrol products, adding that this is something that happened across the country from the federal government to the state and down to the local government.

“Over the last four years, His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, has done significant work in all areas of human development, such as the supply of roads, development in health care delivery, infrastructure, and the provision of humanitarian support to small businesses through the ministry of empowerment, to name a few.

Bego further revealed that His Excellency underscored the need for the executive council to work together to sustain all the gains of the last four years and build on them.

According to Commissioner Buni, Governor Buni has rolled out the priority areas of his administration in the next four years to include health care delivery, education, infrastructural development, security, agriculture, wealth creation, and employment, among others.

Governor Mai Mala Buni also confirmed the appointments of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, and the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdullahi Gashu’a, as substantive SSG and COS, respectively.
