Governor Buni attends the funeral prayer of the late Emir of Tikau.

Governor Mai Mala Buni CON of Yobe State has today attended the funeral prayer for the late Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema, at the Emir’s palace. Sabon Garin Nangere.
Governor Buni prayed to Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest in Aljannatur Fidaus and grant his family and the entire people of the Tikau emirate council the fortitude to bear the loss.
He described the death of the Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema, as a great loss to the emirate, the Yobe state, and Nigeria as a whole.
Emir’s and Chiefs, National Assembly members, members of the state assembly, commissioners, members of the business community, and others from within and outside the state also attended the funeral prayer.
The late Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema, died on May 10, 2024, at the specialist hospital Potiskum after a protected illness.

Ifelodun LG imposes 24 hour curfew across Oro-Ago District for clearance operation

A 24 hour curfew has been imposed on the entire Oro- ago District of Ifelodun council Area, Chairman Abdulrasheed Yusuf said in a statement recently.
The curfew which took effect from 6 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, was imposed in a coordinated effort by the council in conjunction with security agencies to put terrorists in disarray, take them out by combing the area and protecting lives and property of residents.
The statement signed by Abdulquadri Jimba who is the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Ifelodun council area noted that “Within this period, there will be no human or vehicular traffic in the entire district.
“This is in support of the ongoing security clearance operation in the area. Further reviews of this measure will be communicated,” the statement noted.

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived a while ago in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, for the commissioning ceremony of key projects under the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict (RSPIC).
The event is being attended by the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani; the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe; and the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia.
