Governor Buni commends new HOS, 17 LGAs Caretakers

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has said that the substantive Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal has exhibited uncommon loyalty, high sense of responsibility and determination in piloting the state civil service to improve productivity while he was acting since 12th April, 2022.
Governor Buni stated this while swears-in substantive Head of Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal and 17 local government caretaker committee Chairmen at Banquet Hall, Government House, Damaturu.
According to him, these factors along with other personal traits of simplicity and good leadership earned him the government’s confidence in his ability to carry on with the good work of spearheading the activities of the state civil service towards improved service delivery to great development.
Similarly, Governor Mai Mala Buni administered the oath of office on 17 Local Government Caretaker Management Committee.
Buni revealed that their appointment were necessitated by the expiration of the tenure of the last elected local government chairmen on 3rd November 2022, adding that, we considered the Constitution of the Caretaker committee as a “child of necessity” in order to fill the vaccum.

He further said the appointees are to run the affairs of the councils for the period of six months before the end of which we expect to conduct election into the councils.
Buni also said their appointment were made on the bases of their hard work, loyalty, experience and zeal to deliver more selfless service to the people of the grassroots.
He advised the chairmen of the 17 local government councils to ensure prudent management of the councils resources and also urged them to intensify efforts on local revenue generation.
Those swore-in as local government caretaker committee chairmen are, Alhaji Baba Goni Mustapha Bade Fune, Alhaji Salisu Yarima Nangere, Alhaji Lawan Bukar Bursari, Alhaji Bukar Adamu Damaturu, Hajiya Halima Kyari Joda Fika, Alhaji Ali Kolo Kachalla Geidam, Alhaji Dala Malah Gujba, Alhaji Dayyabu Ilu Gulani and Alhaji Ibrahim Babagana Bade.
Others are, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Garba Jakusko, Lawan Alhaji Gana Karasuwa, Bukar A Bukar Machina, Alhaji Modu Kachalla Nguru, Alhaji Salisu Muktari Potiskum, Alhaji Mohammed Lamido Musa Tarmuwa, Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim Yusufari and Alhaji Dauda Bukar Yunusari local government.
