Governor Buni urges SSG to make a double effort to improve service delivery in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has urged the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, to redouble his efforts to support the government to achieve its set target of improved service delivery to the people.

Governor Buni gave the charge today while swearing in the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali mni, at the Government House, Damaturu.

He said the office of the Secretary to the State Government serves as the nerve center of the administration. Therefore, the person occupying this office must have the requisite qualifications to support the government in serving the people effectively and efficiently.

“I have no doubt in Baba Malam Wali’s sense of commitment to duty, patriotism, loyalty, and proactive approach to service.” Buni said.

He urged him to commit his wealth of experience to employing cost-effective measures for the government to save costs and channel more resources into people-oriented projects and programs that would add value to the lives of our people.

Governor Mai Mala Buni further enjoins the secretary of the state government to champion the delegation of duty and responsibilities to all officers under the supervision of their superiors to groom more competent officers as others go on retirement.

Adding to that, by doing this, the state government would harvest more proficient officers trained by your rich wealth of experience and knowledge.

According to him, the principle of division of labor and shared responsibilities would enhance efficiency and speed and check unnecessary administrative bottlenecks that slow down government businesses.
