Governor Rufai condemns killing of 34 in Kaduna

…As 10 more Bethel Baptist students regain freedom

Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru Elrufai on Monday, condemned an attack on Madamai community in Kaura local government area that claimed 34 lives.

NEWSng reports that  34 people were killed, seven other sustained injuries while some houses were also set ablaze on Sunday night in a fresh attack by gunmen on Madami village in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna

In a statement from the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said the governor promised that the government would bear the cost of treatment of those injured.

“Governor El-Rufai has directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to assess the situation with a view to assisting affected households.” He Said

He condoles with the families of the victims and prays for the repose of the souls of those who died as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile, ten more students of Bethel Baptist High school Kaduna,  have regained their freedom after spending eighty one days in captivity with Bandits.

Kaduna is in North Central Nigeria where bandits have sacked thousands from their village and abducted hundreds of school children.

Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna State Chapter, Rev Joseph Hayab confirmed  this  when Newsmen contacted him on Sunday night.

Although the list of students were not ready as at press time, government house kaduna sources revealed that the students will soon be reunited with their parents.
