Gunmen abduct district head in Plateau

A traditional ruler in Kanam Local Government Area of the state has been confirmed abducted.
Sources said that the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the sources, the victim, identified as Zubairu Usman Garba, District Head of Birbeyan in Dengi, Kanam LGA, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen and taken to an undisclosed location.
Security forces visited the scene immediately after receiving the report.
The sources said the command has intensified efforts to rescue the victim and arrest the perpetrators.
