Gunmen Abduct Lecturer in Plateau, Security Operatives Launch Rescue Mission

Dr. Yohanna Mallo, a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Zagazola Makama was reliably informed that the abduction occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Malahwam Tarangol Area.
The assailants stormed the victim’s residence at about 2:30 a.m., forcefully took him, and moved to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, a joint security operation comprising the Military, and Special Intervention Squad has commenced a search-and-rescue mission, combing surrounding bushes for possible leads on the victim’s whereabouts and the perpetrators.

Troops Intensify Search for Kidnapped Pastor in Kauru LGA

The Nigerian Army troops of 1 Division in Kaduna State are working in collaboration with other security agencies to rescue a 55-year-old pastor who was abducted by bandits in Kurmin Rizga village, Kauru Local Government Area (LGA), in the early hours of April 23, 2025.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that a group of armed bandits invaded Kurmin Rizga, firing sporadically, and kidnapped Rev. Ibrahim James, the pastor of the Catholic Church in the village, taking him to an unknown location.
In response, the troops launched a search operation to locate and rescue the pastor unharmed. Efforts to apprehend the suspects and ensure the pastor’s safe return are ongoing.

Notorious Bandit Leader Harisu Babba Yauni Killed in Rival Clash in Katsina

Harisu Babba Yauni, a notorious bandit leader, was killed along with ten of his men during a violent clash with a rival group in Yauni Forest, located in Zakka, Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
Security forces confirmed that the incident occurred on April 23, 2025, around 8:30 a.m. Information revealed that Babba Yauni and his group were attacked by a rival faction from Kambarau, Tudun Dole, and Kauyen Mahuta Forests in Tsaskiya Ward of Safana LGA.
Harisu Babba Yauni, believed to be responsible for the recent killing of a Personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) in Zakka PMF Camp, had been a target of security forces due to his notorious activities. The clash between the two groups resulted in the deaths of Babba Yauni and his associates.

Police Neutralise Notorious Thug in Kano After Knife Attack

A notorious thug and suspected armed robber, identified as Baba Beru, who had long terrorised residents of Gwammaja and surrounding areas in Kano metropolis, was killed on Tuesday following an attempted attack on police personnel.
According to eyewitnesses and security sources, the incident occurred when police operatives confronted the suspect during a routine operation.

Zagazola learnt that Baba Beru, in an attempt to resist arrest, reportedly drew a knife and lunged at the officers, prompting them to respond with lethal force.
The suspect was neutralised on the spot, bringing to an end a reign of fear that had gripped parts of the city for months.
The development sparked wild celebrations among local residents, many of whom described the late Baba Beru as a menace responsible for numerous violent crimes, including armed robbery and street attacks.
Community members expressed relief over the operation and commended the police for swiftly addressing the security threat.
Police authorities are yet to release an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
