Gunmen kill one, abduct another in Kudan LGA of Kaduna State

Armed men have killed one person and abducted another in Unguwan Fulani village, Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on Aug. 26 at about 1:20 a.m. when gunmen invaded the community and kidnapped a resident, Alhaji Shehu Hussaini, 53, to an unknown destination.
The sources said another resident, identified as Aminu Shehu, 40, was shot in the leg during the attack. He was rushed to the General Hospital, Hunkuyi, where he was confirmed dead by doctors.
It added that security operatives, responded swiftly to the distress call and mobilised to the scene as efforts had been intensified to rescue the victim.

Security agencies have been placed on high alert following reports that a large number of armed Fulani herder bandits have arrived and set up camps in the valley between Ogbaulu Atakpa in Agatu and Akpete in Apa Local Government Areas of Benue State.
Sources told Zagazola that personnel of the Nigerian Police, Civilian JTF, and other tactical teams have been proactively deployed to the affected areas to forestall possible attacks on surrounding communities.
Authorities said monitoring and surveillance have been intensified to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any disruption to local activities.
The sources urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies. Further developments are expected as operations continue in the area.

Police rescue abducted student, arrest suspect in Nasarawa

A 14-year-old student, Dauda Salisu, has been rescued unhurt by security operatives in Gitata, Nasarawa State, following his abduction by a suspected criminal.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim, a JSS2 student at Ube Gitata, was reportedly abducted on Feb. 2, 2026, beside a local mosque by one Jamilu Salisu, a male from Dutsinma, Katsina State.
Security operatives quickly trailed and arrested the suspect at the Gitata riverside, while a second suspect identified as Zailani SNU remains at large.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and ensure the safety of the community. Authorities have called on residents to provide timely information on suspicious activities.

Chinese national arrested for alleged indecent assault, rape in Ogun

A Chinese national, Li-jian Yuan, 50, has been arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for alleged indecent assault and rape of a 23-year-old woman, Wemimo Adebowale.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, who works at Zhiylian Global Quarry, Kobape, was apprehended by detectives following a complaint lodged on Jan. 30, 2026. Investigations revealed that the alleged assault occurred on Jan. 28, 2026.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending further investigation and is expected to be arraigned in court soon.
Authorities have assured the public of diligent follow-up to ensure justice is served in the matter.
