Gunmen kill two farmers in Omebe village, Agatu LGA, Benue

Two farmers have been shot and killed by suspected armed herders in Omebe village, located near the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims, identified as Tony Adejo, and Jeremiah Danjuma, both of Odugbeho Ward in Agatu Local Government Area, were reportedly attacked while engaging in farming activities in the area.
Police sources said that the Area Commander Otukpo mobilised patrol teams and Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel to the scene upon receipt of a distress call.
He said that the assailants had fled the area before the arrival of security operatives.
According to him, the bodies of the deceased were photographed and evacuated to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, where they were deposited for autopsy.
