The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Borno State, Hon. Amb. Zuwaira Gambo, represented by her Coordinator, Malam Umar Goske, empowered 24 youth on Monday, August 21, 2023, in Kwaya Kusar, in support and enhancement of their businesses.

The beneficiaries are mostly youth in need of assistance to cushion the effects of inflation and low patronage.

Beneficiaries in the first category, sewing machines, received the sums of N50,000, N40,000, 30,000, N25,000, and N20,000 as well.
The program was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the KKDA Chairman, his Treasurer, Women Leader members, and key members of the Yazuzu Movement.

Hon. Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo (Uwar Marayu) said “the objective of the empowerment is to identify and encourage hitherto weak entrepreneurs who are very young and active but found themselves idle due to a decline in patronage. It is expected that with this intervention, they will be able to support themselves and other dependents, which will promote peace and harmony in the community. A giant step towards arresting youth restiveness.

Hon. Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo also extended her profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for his courage, commitment, and determination towards ensuring that an enabling environment is established for the citizens of Borno to live in peace and pursue legitimate business endeavors.

The beneficiaries, while thanking Almighty Allah for the opportunity, expressed their unflinching support and loyalty to the government of HE Prrof Zulum and also used the opportunity to thank him for appointing their mother as a member of the Borno State Executive Council.
