Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni allegedly makes a turn by settling the 24 state constituency representatives at the Yobe state House of Assembly with automatic tickets for their reelection into the Assembly come 2023.
Impeccable sources from the Assembly told NEWSng that 18 members of the Assembly got angry with the governor, who was said to have selected six members he feels very comfortable with and gave the forms to contest in the APC primaries for the state Assembly.
According to our sources, the remaining 18 converge in the Assembly to carry out their threats of impeachment in the ensuing build up to the brewing conflict between them and the governor.
“The remaining 18 members entered into emergency sitting and invited the state party Chairman and showed him some important documents, which they told him that they are going to impeach the governor based on the document they have since he refused to give them the automatic tickets.
“As soon as the party chairman saw the documents he begged the members not to impeach the governor, but to give him time to meet with the governor and brief him, in which case if he maintained his position, they may go ahead to carry out their threats.
“After the party Chairman left, they waited and when he returned came with twenty four forms and distributed them to the 24 members to seal a deal.” Our source said.

Recall that APC supporters from the 24 state constituencies have asked the governor to allow democracy to play and not to support some of the members who have overstayed in the state Assembly. They asked the governor to allow for a level playing field for others , a situation which was said to have informed the drama at the house.
Some of the members were said to have been in the house since 1999 and have not brought any development in their constituency, informing their people to urge the governor to ensure changes by allowing healthy democracy to play in Yobe state. However, with the development on ground it may perhaps mean that the people have lost the battle against their representatives after those who assume the landlord’s position in the house threatens the governor’s seat.
With the new development, some supporters of the APC administration in the state said they are afraid the opposition may take the state if the party encourages overstay of members in the state Assembly.
NEWSng made several efforts to speak with the Speaker Yobe state house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Lawal Mirwa and the Party Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka on this development but all efforts proved abortive as their phones were not reachable.
