The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has killed one policeman and carted away one vehicle during an attack in the Gubio Police Divisional Office in Borno State.
It was gathered that the gunmen who came through the axis of Bunduldul on two hilux vehicles and several motorcycles made an infiltration into the town by foot after they parked their vehicles around Kasuwan Shanu.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, reports that at exactly 2 a.m., they began attacking the Police Divisional Office and began shooting sporadically.
Sources confirmed that one police inspector paid the supreme price while engaging with the terrorists, while a constable was not found.
The terrorists also carted away one operational vehicle belonging to the police.
