JATAU: A POET, NOVELIST AND A DOCTOR

When I had a ghastly motor accident in 2004 broken into pieces, Dr. Anthony Jatau was the lead consultant that did a medical carpentry on me at the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital and that was the genesis on how I became close to him and knew he was an author with some published books to his credit.     

Dr. Anthony Jatau is like the following professionals; Lenrie Peters, Cyprian  Ekwensi, Ekechi Amadi, John Grisham, these are professionals in their own academic discipline, from medicine to pharmacy, law to science. These men have made name as authors of repute rather than in their professions.

I have read some of this author’s works and one among the books is the ‘Kingdom of The Apes (2016). His writings are reflections of society. A satire depicting humans or animals as characters with short- comings and their follies. Cnme December 1st 2021, there will be a public presentation/ launching of some of his books in Maiduguri.     

Dr. Jatau is the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Atal Medical Centre Jaddari- Polo Maiduguri, Borno state. His hobbies include reading and writing.
