Jubilations As Plateau State Governor Elect Receives Certificate of Return in Jos

The Governor elect Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and his Deputy Ngo Josephine Piyo has received their certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) amid jubilation by their supporters.

The National Electoral Commissioner Haruna Kudu and Plateau state Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr, Oliver Agundu while presenting the certificates of return to the Governor and his Deputy elect, and the 24 members elect of State House of Assembly said , that they have delivered on their promises to the good people of Plateau state. He said ” to mark the climax of the 2023 general elections here in Plateau state as all candidates from Governor elect, Deputy Governor and State House of Assembly are certified by INEC as the winners of their various electoral positions contested in the just concluded elections in the state .”

The commissioner also challenged the Governor elect , his Deputy and the 24 members elect to ensure that at all times, the government of Plateau state under their watch is conducted and anchored on transparency and responsibility of the people of the state.

The Governor Elect Barr. Caleb Mutfwang responded after receiving the certificate of return by appreciating INEC for conducting transparent election in the state. He also commended the Plateau citizens for their support and trust given to him , saying he will never betray the mandate given to him to ensure good leadership and governance. He stressed that with the presentation of the certificate of return, it has brought to a close the electioneering process and thanked the people who trusted them with the mandate to provide inclusive leadership in the state.

The certificate presentation has triggered jubilations , excitement and celebration in Jos the Plateau state capital as supporters are seen dancing in the streets to express happiness over Mutfwang’s victory .
