Kaduna Train Attack: Government Knows what we want – Bandits

In a video of about two minutes released on Wednesday, Bandits who attacked the Abuja- Kaduna bound train on Monday 28, 2022 said there actions were not to force families of victims to collect ransom as money according to them is not a problem but stating that government knows what they wanted and unless that is provided they would to inflict pain on citizens until such demands are made.

Speaking in the video while releasing the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Malam Alwan Ali-Hassan on condition of old age and to further informed the government of the plights of victims in their custody and what may befall them, the Bandits said it would take nothing to waste hundreds of people abducted in the operation of government decided to keep mum on their demands.

The video, which has a burnt Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) in its background, appeared to have been shot at the scene of the reported attack on a military base in Birnin-Gwari where two APC were reportedly burnt after they killed some soldiers.

Ali-Hassan, who was flanked by four Bandits in military camouflage, two on each side, while speaking when the Bandits gave him the opportunity to speak called on the Nigeria government to hasten to meet the demand of the Bandits in  order to save the raining passengers in captivity, which according to him are many.

Ali-Hassan said: “I want to confirm to you that I was pitied because of my status and age so they are allowing me to go. But, I can confirm to you that I am leaving behind hundreds others, who need urgent response from the government to secure their freedom.

“I hope that the government will meet with the leaders of this group and talk with them, so that the rest of the people can be set free to reunite with their families.” The MD BOA said

Also while making emphasis on the demand they are placing on government, the Bandits spokesman in the group of four

” We only took pity on the man (MD of BOA) because of his age and status but also as a reminder to what they (government) know what they are into. What we are saying is that either they look for us and we settle this or we would kill all those victims in our custody as killing them means nothing to us. 

” Our message is simple. You should also know that it is not your money that we want. if it is because of money, we won’t do what we did. We don’t want your money and you know what we want. So, it is either you hurry to meet our demands or we do what we want to do with these victims.” He said
