Kashim Shettima: Door to Door with Tinubu Ahead of APC Primaries

The 2023 general elections appear to have given hope to many politicians regardless of their records of performance. This however, is not without the pain that has to go with selling candidates to the electorates’ beginning with party delegates across the states. 

While this is the opportunity for all, some candidates remain unsellable despite the much marketing by their conductors. Others seemed to have had it smooth but not totally acceptable at selling points. For Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it was a different ball game with delegates giving choruses of acceptance at every door knock.

The door to door Bola Tinubu campaign trained led by former Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima puts the former Lagos State governor and leader of the All Progressive Party, APC at the lead with much assuring voices trailing his success at every meetings. 

Tinubu had since leaving office in 2007 maintained a distance from political office while building on his ambition to lead the country as President. If anything, his grand style of taking over state delegates ahead of the APC primaries revealed that the Jagaban of APC has done his homework well.

While selling his candidature at every meeting with the delegates, Senator kashim Shettima who is the arrow head in unfolding the Jagaban for Nigeria did not forget to remind the people of the history that brought them to this point.

Kashim Shettima has told the delegates why it is important for them to remain appreciative and return the favour owing to the sacrifices Bola Ahmed Tinubu made to make APC the ruling party in the country today.

He reminded them that despite the love they all had for President Muhammadu Buhari, they could not have made him the President until there was an understanding that brought the merger through the support of the Jagaban at the time all hope was lost.

According to Kashim Shettima, the north at the time had come to Tinubu to solicit his support not to tag along with the Buhari dream. If he had listened to the many voices including people from Buhari’s home town the story would have remained that Buhari had tried several times and failed. However, because Tinubu understood the need of the hour, he remained as constant as the North Star in every decision, which makes him the man Nigeria needs today.

Shettima did not speak behind closed doors to showcase his product; he came in the open so that Nigerians would know the choice they are making.

While speaking to delegates in Borno state and he did in almost all the states across the country, Senator Kashim Shettima opens chapters in the books of history for a reference. This he did to show Nigerians that Tinubu has been tested and his footprint was not written on the sand of history but on the rock, which cannot be washed away.

He impressed on the people to also look at his pages of choice with the case of Borno state and to understand that he is bringing good tidings that will change history and prove book makers wrong.

Standing on firm ground, Kashim Shettima described Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most suitable and qualified candidate to rule Nigeria among all the aspirants having sacrificed a lot and contributed immensely to the survival and stability of the party right from the cradle to its infancy and maturity stages.
