Kidnappers abducts pregnant woman, Child in Yobe

Reports from Damaturu, the Yobe state capital indicated that a middle aged woman was abducted by suspected kidnappers after she boarded a tricycle in front of the Damaturu Specialists Hospital where she was said to have gone for medical check-up.

The woman according to family sources is pregnant and she was taken along with her little boy about three years of age.

The Victims family members said the incident happened on Friday. According to the source, the family sensed her disappearance and became worried when she had not arrived home after 7:00pm on Friday.

The family source said the husband after calling several relatives and about to report to the Police received a phone call from an undisclosed  number informing him that if he wanted to see his wife again that he must pay a ransom of two million naira (N2 million). 

“Negotiation is ongoing for the release of the kidnapped victims. The Rate of Abduction by criminal groups is increasing in Gujba, Gulani, Postiskum  and Damaturu local government areas.

“Movement in late evening or going to places where there is less population is very dangerous today.” He added
