Lagos Building Collapsed: 36 confirmed dead

Thirty-six  (36) persons have been reported dead in the 21 storey building that collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State on Monday.

The South West Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this development in the early hours of Thursday.

According to Farinloye, nine persons were rescued from the building, which was under construction.

The death toll as at Wednesday night was  to be 22 and 23 according to different accounts.

Those confirmed to have died in the tragedy included Onyinye Enekwe, the Personal Assistant to the owner of the property, Femi Osibona, who is also the Managing Director of Fourscore Limited.

Information has it that Enekwe is a graduate of the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

She is one of the PAs of Osibona.

She resumed at Fourscore Limited less than a week before the incident.
