Hours after a family reunion and hosting of Representative Beni Lar a former House of Representatives member from Langtang North and South Federal Constituency Senator Useni recently declared forgiveness for all his arch rivals in the Plateau political tuff.

Useni who hosted Lar who held sway in the House of Reps for about 17 years, was in a family reunion with other seniors from his zone like Mrs Domkat Bali and Prof Lar, the widow of late Solomon Lar in his Abuja residence

Sen Jeremiah Useni stressed in the meeting that he has forgiven all those who misunderstood the several steps taken by him to position the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to achieve unity within the Plateau State chapter.

He noted that in his magnanimity as an elder statesman, who carries a Father Figure and as a Christian, to err is human and to forgive is divine so what ever has been forgiven stays so.

Sen Useni regretted that the legal crises within the PDP which created factions was triggered by the postures and dispositions of some personalities within the party who never towed the path of unity and peace.

He maintained during the reunion meeting that despite the visits by several leaders to his residence, the party seems adamant in toying with genuine reconciliations.

“At some crucial points it became too handicap to push our followers to down tools considering the high levels of unabated targeted maltreatment and blackmail we were receiving.

” And this was why they started to question their right to political self defense amidst glaring provocative postures, suspensions and other meted harsh treatments against them.”

He hinted that his discussions with Beni Lar and family was a family reunion dating back to decades of a long standing relationship, history and ancestry with little or no political attachments.

The long standing factions in the plateau PDP between Sen Jerry Useni and Baba Jonah Jang as caused the party a lot of losses in the national assembly as a generation of Representatives were asked to vacate their seat by the appeal Court recently.

A fresh election was called especially in the northern senatorial zone and PDP was not on the ballot paper.

This new forgiveness may be the beginning of real reconciliation between the two heavy weights of Plateau politics.
