Maiduguri flood: Hot meals partners’ with Borno State female Permanent Secretaries to reach out to flood victims

… distribute food to over 500 vulnerable households in Bakassi camp and Feezan.

In the wake of the devastating flood in Maiduguri metropolis and the ensuing displacement of households, hot meals a philantrophic group made up of several other subgroups was set up to reach out to the displaced vulnerable households.

In day one of their operations, the female permanent secretaries ably represented by Hajia Aisha Sheik and Dr Hyelni Mshelia in collaboration with i-DICE focal person Abdullahi Galtimari (Digimatix) reached out to over 500 households at Bakassi camp and Feezan.

Day 2 of the program continues tomorrow 14th of September with all the five female permanent secretaries, namely Aishatu Musa Shiek., Dr Hyelni H.Mshelia, Yakaru Mustapha., Juliana Bitrus and Yakaka Maaji all taking part in the program.

Babazanna Abdulkarim who is also part of the team remarked “Food distribution to flood victims is a critical aspect of disaster response, and providing this lifeline to those in need shouldnt be the responsibility of government alone, all hands must be on deck to so that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. “
