Man Dies After Being Beaten by Brother in Zaria City

A tragic incident in Zaria City has led to the death of 50-year-old Sani Yusuf, who was reportedly beaten into a stupor by his elder brother, Abubakar Aminu, on April 4, 2025.

According to information from a Good Samaritan, Abubakar, aged 53, attacked Sani at their home in Rimintsiwa, Zaria City.

The victim was immediately rushed to ABUTH Shika for medical treatment but unfortunately passed away early on April 10, 2025, at approximately 4:50 a.m. While the victim was under care at the hospital, his condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to the injuries inflicted during the assault.

The family has since buried the deceased according to local customs.

Police authorities are currently searching for the suspect, Abubakar Aminu, who fled the scene following the incident. Efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.

The case has been classified as culpable homicide, and investigations are being pursued to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation and the suspect’s motives.

Police Arrest 22 Foreign Nationals Without Valid Documents in Nasarawa

The Police in Nassarawa has arrested 22 foreign nationals during a raid in New Karu Local Government Area for allegedly residing in the country without valid immigration documents.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest followed a tip-off received by the Area Commander of New Karu, leading to a raid on a three-bedroom flat located at Ibro Block, New Karu, on April 10 at about 1:00 p.m.

The sources said that the arrested suspects included nationals from Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. They include 14 men and 8 women, aged between 20 and 45 years.

Among them are Amidu Dau, 23; Youssouf Diarra, 28; Amadou Ba, 27; Samba Gadyaga, 20; Oumarou Bari, 45 — all from Mali; and Fatoumaya Ouedraga, 20; Aicha Toure, 20; Safiatou Banba, 24; Djamila Dao, 25; Doumbia Ismael, 30; Aroune Kone, 24; and Dao Samassi, 26 — all from Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.

Others arrested include Seydou Kassoungue, 21; Moussa Diallo, 23; Fatim Kouyate, 21; Abi Bembele, 26; Mamadou Fane, 22; David Kone, 28; Konate Tchemoko, 20; and Amadou Dao, 28.

Preliminary investigations revealed that none of the suspects possessed valid travel or immigration documents permitting their stay in Nigeria.

The police sources said all the suspects are undergoing further investigation, and appropriate actions will be taken in collaboration with relevant immigration authorities.

FCT Police Arrest 88 Suspects in Coordinated Raids Across Abuja

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) FCT Command has arrested 88 suspects following coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across Abuja.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operations were carried out late Friday night at about 11:40 p.m. by operatives from several divisions, including Lokogoma, Maitama, Wuse, Kubwa, Gwagwa, Dutse Alhaji, Karmo, Dawaki, Wuye, Utako, and Bwari.

The raids targeted black spots and uncompleted buildings suspected to be used by criminals across the various jurisdictions.

During the operation, some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs were recovered.

All 88 suspects are currently in custody undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective divisions.

Sources from the police said those found culpable will be charged to court, while others will be released if found innocent.

Police Sergeant Arrested for Attempted Sale of Stolen Motorcycle

A police sergeant, Olonisowon Segun, serving at Araromi Obu Division, was arrested on April 11, 2025, for attempting to sell a stolen motorcycle. The black TVS Lady Motorcycle, was found in his possession without an ignition key or relevant documentation.

Intelligence Sources, told Zagazola Makama, that the arrest followed a tip-off, and surveillance teams were deployed to Erekiti Luwoye, where the Sergeant was apprehended.

Sources said that during interrogation, he claimed to have bought the motorcycle in an auction at Ikare Police Division. However, a subsequent inquiry revealed that the motorcycle was actually stolen from their division.

Sources said that Sergeant Olonisowon is currently in detention, and investigations are ongoing.
