Marriage must be accorded full respect by couples.—Gov. Buni

Governor Mai Mala Buni CON of Yobe State has emphasized that marriage is one of the cardinal tenets of Islam, which must be accorded the fullest respect by the couples.

Governor Buni started this on Friday while attending the wedding fatiha of the sons and daughters of prominent personalities in Damaturu, the state capital.

Ably represented by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune). Governor Mai Mala Buni stood for Mohammed Umar Shanga, one of the grooms, and gave out the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦250,000) as dowry for his bride, Fatima Lawan Kolo Geidam.

Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali Mni, the secretary to the Yobe State Government, served as the representative of the bride, Fatima Lawan Kolo Geidam.

The wedding proceedings were conducted by the chief imam of the central mosque, Ustaz Hudu Muhammed Yusuf, who offered prayers for the Almighty Allah to bless the couples and shower his blessings on them and join them together in goodness and keep them united.

The wedding ceremony was attended by the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, mni; the Head of the Civil Service; members of the State House of Assembly; Commissioners; Special Advisers; and Local Government Chairmen, among others.
