MATAN: Buhari commended Buni over construction of modern markets in Yobe

Marketers Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN) has commanded Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state for the construction of modern markets in six local government areas of the state.

The Chairman of the Association Yobe state chapter, Alhaji Buhari Mohammed Abubakar, B M A Alheri Investment Limited made the commendation while speaking to NEWSng in his office.

He said, “God help us, we have a governor, who we can say is a governor of governors being the chairman of reconciliation in the whole Nigeria who is also a patriotic marketer because he is the one who came and constructed a modern market in six local government areas.”

Buhari said, only Yobe state in the whole North East has Cargo International airport, “if you talk of business Yobe state is in the forefront, so the construction of cargo has come at the right time.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni has promised to construct us a modern markets in the state and now he fulfill his promise and we marketers in Yobe state we would not forget the chairman of governors forever.”

The chairman appealed to the governor to empower marketers in the state with the capital so as to boost the economy of the state. According to him,” if you give one billion naira to a business mogul it is like you secured 2000 people a job.”

He revealed that, Marketers Traders Association of Nigeria ( MATAN) was established over 26 years, adding that those who registered the association include Hajiya Amamatu the mother of National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Comrade Labaran and since then the association is existing in the south and other states.

He said during their convention in Abuja they were able to establish chapters in Zamfara, Jigawa, Borno, Bauchi, Adamawa, Gombe and Yobe states.

He added that, in all the states Matan now has representatives. “We have our representatives in the whole 17 local government areas of Yobe state and we start inauguration them local government by local government.

According to him, the difference between MATAN and Arewa Traders Association of Nigeria (ATAN) is that Matan covers the whole Nigeria, while Atan covers only the north.
