Following the recent matriculation of the 265 students admitted in 2021/ 2022 of Mewar International University (MIU) of Nigeria, I took time to make a brief assessment of the quality of lecturers and students of this growing university and what I discovered within my short period of interactions with both Lecturers and Students,  I told myself that this indeed is a place for young people who are seeking for university degree in Nigeria.   

The word Mewar for me, sounds ‘Fulfulde’ – the language spoken by the Fulani race but it is not. Mewar is a region in India housing the mother university and her group of institutions for decades. Her presence in Nigeria is to provide new and innovative cutting- edge education pedagogy in a serene environment under a conducive atmosphere ideal for learning.

The beauty of this university is its facilities and structures, large secured expanse of land close to the metropolitan area. The institution, which is located along Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja- Keffi Expressway Masaka, Karu Nasarawa state could just be a new haven for quality education.    At Mewar University students are taught and mentored by one of the best minds across the globe “the university offers a wide range of opportunities such as: international exchange programmes, internships, foreign language and classes.”     

With courses like Cyber Security, Computing Science, Software Engineering, Biotechnology and others under the Faculty of Computing and Sciences one would be tempted to say that the University is here to bring out the best in the field of new technology. The Faculty of Management and Social Sciences has courses like: Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Banking and Finance among others, which are indeed the need of the hour  for tomorrow’s managers .

These courses have captured the needs for modern science and technology, commerce and industry.    Mewar university students are housed in hostels that are well taken care of, fully air-conditioned including the classrooms.    Tuition fee of this institution of learning compared to other private universities within Abuja and Nasarawa state is reasonably affordable by all standards.

The fee is for all courses as cited on her flyer. “There are also various scholarship options available as well as from other sponsors to study here in Mewar leading up to 100%.”   

Mewar International University (MIU) of Nigeria aims to become the seat of teaching, learning and scholarship and on her motto she stands “education knowledge , peace and prosperity.”
