Naira Swap: Yobe Commissioner Urges Citizens to take advantage of 10 days extension

Yobe state Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Muhammed Lamin has call on the public to make effective use the 10 days extension for the change of the new note and ensure changing the old 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes to the new ones from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

This is made available in a press release signed by the Director of Information services, Hajia Husna Ibrahim.

The release further said, the old notes according to the CBN will not be accepted after 10th February, 2023 which is a few days from now.

“It is therefore imperative that people comply to this development in order to avoid loss and damages any delay might cause.

The release are also reminded members of the public to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) as the exercise is also extended up till the 15th of February, 2023 in order to actively participate in the forthcoming general elections.

The Commissioner calls on all local government authorities to sensitise their communities on this development in order to carry everyone along.

He also urged the people to desist from any form of violence, but conduct themselves before, during and after the 2023 general elections, adding that, this is the only way to sustain the achievements and giant stride of the present administration in the state.
