National Orthopaedic Hospital Jalingo Gets Chief Medical Director

Professor Chubado Tahir of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) Borno State was recently appointed as the pioneer Chief Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital Jalingo ( NOHJ) , Taraba State . 

Professor Tahir hails from Adamawa State , Yola South Local Government Area. Born on the 28th November 1966 at Sarti , Taraba State. 

He attended his primary and secondary schools in Taraba State and Yola respectively and later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University ( ABU ) Zaria where he studied medicine from 1984 – 1990.

He had his Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeon in 2001. He was at some medical  courses and training, home and abroad. 

He was in Hamburg – Germany for Head and Neck Reconstruction. Was also at Chennan in India for Aesthetic Surgery  Training in 2021 in his areas of speciality 

Professor Chubado is a member of some reputable professional medical bodies and equally a Medical Examiner of some universities such as : ABU Zaria, Usmanu Danfodio  University Sokoto, and the University of Benin  among others.    

Receiving his Letter of Appointment from the former Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire as the pioneer CMD ,the Minister charged him to develop the hospital and bring it to national standard and add value to the health sector.

Professor Tahir is a medical Consultant / Surgeon an expert in Burns , Plastic – Reconstructive and Aesthetic Medicine with years of experience. 

Before his appointment, he is the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and was the Coordinator and Head of Burns Centre. He is married with children and has since resumed office.
