National Orthopedic Hospital Jalingo As Taraba State Government Signed MOU

It was a journey that started in 2022 to provide orthopedic healthcare services to the people of Taraba State and the Northeast region through the establishment of the National Orthopedic Hospital Jalingo, (NOHJ) by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health as one of her responsibilities to the citizens for better and good health care delivery.

Following the appointment of Prof. Chubado Tahir as the pioneer Medical Director ( MD) of the new National Orthopedic Hospital Jalingo Taraba State in 2022 marked the presence of the first National Orthopedic Hospital in the Northeast region.

Prof. Tahir is a surgeon, and expert who expertise and specialization in Anesthetic and Burns Injuries with years of experience in the fields of medicine and medical administration.

Recently the Federal Ministry of Health Abuja with the Taraba State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to fully take over what has been provided as facilities by the State Government for the Hospital use.

Speaking during the brief ceremony which was held in the FMOH Conference Hall the Hon. Minister of State, Dr. Tunji Alausa re-eintrated the renewed hope agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu Government on good healthcare delivery to the citizens and good people of Taraba State.

” The National Orthopedic Hospital Jalingo is a renewed hope for the people of Taraba and the Nation at large in terms of healthcare services. As a Ministry we are the representative of the president to facilitating, delivering and achieving the Federal Government objectives like what we are doing now.” He said

The Minister further called on the Taraba State Government to fulfill part of her commitments of the MOU been signed today.

In his response, the Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali appreciated the Federal Government, the Minister and the FMOH for their tireless effort to making the National Orthopedic Hospital in Jalingo to reality,

” It is indeed a milestone for us in Taraba to have such a hospital that will not only serve the people of Taraba, but the entire Northeast region and the country. I believed the Hospital will also attend and give the people other medical services”.

The Deputy Governor also informed the Minister that the burden of traveling to and from Dala, the National Orthopedic Hospital in Kano will be a thing of the past.” Your choice of Taraba State is good, and the appointment of Prof. Chubado Tahir as one of the best hands is excellent”.

The occasion was witnessed by Dr. Tunji Alausa the Hon. Minister of State Health, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali Taraba State Deputy Governor, Dr. Boma Berdia Commissioner for Health Taraba State, Prof. Chubado Tahir Medical Director National Orthopedic Hospital Jalingo among other top FMOH officers and state officials present.
