NDLEA clamps down on “akuskura” drug laboratory in maiduguri

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Borno State Command has dislodged “akuskura” laboratory in Maiduguri.

This occurred during the week when operatives of the Borno State command, stormed the clandestine laboratory where “akuskura” is being cooked, distributed and exported to surrounding countries.

Ndlea spokesman Segun Jolaoso said that during the operation, three male suspects that worked in the factory where arrested.

Jolaoso indicated that “Items recovered from the illicit drug factory includes several 25liters kegs of already prepared Akuskura, two gas cylinders, industrial gas cookers, pots and so on.”

“The killer drug is usually being exported to Cameroun, Chad and even Sudan.

” They go through Gamboru Ngala and our officers at Mafa Checkpoint and Gamboru Ngala normally arrest the substance on transit.” said the spokesman.
