NDLEA Smashes Patey Lagos Island Drug Cartel

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has smashed the notorious Patey Lagos Island drug haven cartel in Lagos State, arresting a major drug kingpin, Mrs. Sherifat Kehinde Lawal.

A statement on Saturday by the spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, Femi Babafemi said Lawal was arrested along with six other suspects by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, who also recovered 5,862 kilogrammes of assorted illicit drugs including Loud and codeine in a raid on Saturday.
Babafemi said following credible intelligence and follow up surveillance on illicit drug dealing in Osho, Gambari, and Beecroft Streets, Patey Area of Lagos Island, anti-narcotic officers stormed the Gambari street base of the drug kingpin where they arrested her and six of her accomplices at 9:30am Saturday.
He said other members of the cartel operating in the axis however mobilised hoodlums who attacked the operatives with stones, bottles and guns in a bid to prevent the officers from arresting other kingpins marked for arrest as well as taking the suspects already nabbed and drug exhibits away.
Babafemi disclosed that the operatives were able to tactically defend themselves, took the suspects and exhibits away.
He revealed that suspects in custody with Mrs. Lawal are Ahmed Yisau; Solomon Alape; Olayemi Akinola; Salami Qudus; Bakare Rafiu; Rose Samson; Yusuf Rofiat, and Chukwudi Egon.
Meanwhile, in his reaction to the development, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the officers and men of the Lagos Command of the agency for the successful operation.
He however warned those being used by drug cartels to obstruct or attack anti-narcotic officers in the course of doing their work to desist or face dire consequences.

A swift response by the Nigerian troops in Kebbi has foiled a bandit attack on Dabai Town, forcing the assailants to flee after a gun battle with security operatives.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred around 2 a.m. when suspected bandits attempted to invade the town.
“Security forces were immediately dispatched to intercept the assailants and engaged them in a fierce exchange of gunfire,” the source said. “Overwhelmed by superior firepower, the bandits abandoned their mission and escaped.”
While no casualties were reported, security operatives have intensified patrols in the area to prevent further attacks.

Police Foil Robbery at Gwagwalada Motor Park, Arrest Suspect

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) FCT Command has foiled a robbery at Gwagwalada Motor Park, arresting one suspect while others fled.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that three incident occurred on Thursday at about 7:25 p.m. when a gang of 15 armed hoodlums stormed the park, attacking and robbing commuters and traders.
A distress call alerted the police, prompting the deployment of a surveillance team to the scene.
On sighting the operatives, the robbers fled, abandoning a Golf 3 vehicle with registration number RSH 193 DB.
One suspect was apprehended but was severely beaten by an irate mob before being rescued and taken to Asokoro Hospital for treatment.
Police recovered weapons from the abandoned vehicle, which has been impounded as part of ongoing investigations.

Three suspects arrested over robbery in Abuja, as police sergeant stabbed

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) FCT Command has arrested three suspects linked to a robbery incident in Mpape that left a police officer injured.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that on March 11, 2025, at about 3:30 p.m., four robbers on a motorcycle attacked and dispossessed Michael Adewunmi of his Redmi cell phone,and other valuables at Mashafa Village, Mpape.
A police officer, Sergeant Ibritam Inyenetin, attempted to intervene but was stabbed by the robbers.
He was later treated and discharged from Jarel Hospital, Mpape.
Following intelligence reports, police operatives arrested three suspects:
