Nigeria: 49 Boko Haram fighters, 2 Commanders surrender in Borno

Forty-nine (49) fighters of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, terrorist group including two Commanders, Ba’a Usman (Munzir) and Alhaji Ari,(Nakib) have surrendered to troops.
A Military Defence sources, told NEWSng that the terrorists surrendered to the Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Damboa on November 20, 2022.

According to him, preliminary investigation revealed that the insurgents came out from Sambisa forest, where they have been hiding and waging campaign of terror against troops and surrounding villages around the dreaded forest in Borno.
Recalled that no fewer than 90,000 insurgents comprising combatants and non-combatants with their families have so far surrendered to the Nigerian Troops as revealed by the theatre commander, Major General Christopher Musa.
NEWSng learnt that the sustained onslaughts on the insurgents under the kinetic and non-kinetic approaches had led to the mass surrender.
This was also as the Terrorists factions continued to engage in fighting each other over money, women and areas of control in northeast Nigeria.
