Nigeria: Bandits abduct Commissioner for Information in Niger
Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Mohammed Idris was on Sunday abducted by gunmen at Baban Tunga village of Tafa Local Government Area of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane, disclosed this to the Newsmen on Monday.
Matane said that the gunmen who came on about 15 motorcycles with sophisticated weapons kidnapped the commissioner at about 11 p.m. during a downpour in the area.

According to him, the kidnappers are yet to make contact with the families of the commissioner or government over the abduction.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, also confirmed the incident he however promised to provide more details on the situation.
