Nigeria Congratulates President-elect of Namibia on Her Victory

Nigeria has congratulated Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her historic election as the first female President of the Republic of Namibia.
The congratulations was contained in a statement signed on Wednesday by the acting spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa.
The statement read: “The Federal Republic of Nigeria congratulates Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her historic election as the first female President of the Republic of Namibia. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is the current Vice President, and her electoral victory as confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Namibia, will extend the ruling SWAPO’s reign in power since independence.
“The people of Namibia have indeed voted for stability. Therefore, the Government of Nigeria looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant relationship during her tenure in office for the benefit of our people.”

Police arrest suspected bandit in Kaduna over suspicious financial transaction

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Rabiu Usman, on suspicion of being a bandit associate following a report of suspicious financial activity in Giwa Local Government Area of the state.
A police sources confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that the suspect was apprehended on April 28 by operatives of the Kidandan Division.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Kabiru Abdullahi, a 27-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator in Galadimawa, who reported that the suspect had requested his account details on April 26 to enable a relative, identified as Ibrahim Bature, to send money to him.
Upon receiving intelligence that Ibrahim Bature is a suspected bandit, the complainant promptly alerted the police. Rabiu Usman was arrested when he arrived to collect the said funds.
The suspect is currently in custody and has provided useful information to investigators. Efforts are underway to track and apprehend Ibrahim Bature, who remains at large.

Four die in fatal crash involving Sokoto State government transport vehicle in Zaria

Tragedy struck in Zaria, Kaduna State, as one of the transport vehicles provided by the Sokoto State Government was involved in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of four passengers.
The ill-fated vehicle, which bore the registration details of Isa Local Government Area, was reportedly on transit when the accident occurred in Zaria.
Eyewitnesses said the crash was severe, resulting in multiple casualties. Emergency responders and concerned residents were seen assisting the victims at the scene.
Authorities have yet to release official details regarding the cause of the accident or the total number of passengers on board.

Bandits kill community guard, steal firearm in Zamfara

Armed bandits have killed a member of the Community Protection Guard (CPG) in Dutsin Wake Village, Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State, carting away his firearm.
Zagazola confirmed that the incident on Tuesday, stating that it occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on April 28.
The victim, identified as Faruk Suleman, was attacked by the assailants while on duty. He was fatally shot and his pump-action rifle was taken away by the attackers.
Security forces recovered body was recovered and taken to a hospital for autopsy.
