President Bola Tinubu strongly condemns the bomb attacks, which resulted in the loss of precious lives and the maiming of other citizens in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, northeast Nigeria.
This is just as another bomber detonated her vest along Maiduguri, Monguni road killing herself and two others.
President Tinubu describes the attacks as desperate acts of terror and a clear manifestation of the pressure mounted against terrorists and the success achieved in degrading their capacity to launch offensives.
The President declares that the purveyors of wanton violence shall have a certain encounter with justice, and that these cowardly attacks are only but an isolated episode as his government will not allow the nation to slither into an era of fear, tears, sorrow, and blood.
The President states that his administration is taking necessary measures to secure citizens, emphasizing that efforts will be redoubled to ensure that those who trouble the nation, dispatching precious lives, and disruption are brought to justice.

Israel/Iran Crisis: Nigerians in Tehran Have Not Been Abandoned to Fate, Says FG

The federal government has debunked the reported claim that Nigeria has abandoned citizens in Tehran, Iran to their fate as Israeli bombs continue it drop.
A statement on Saturday by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa read: “The attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been drawn to misleading and unfounded reports circulating on social media and certain news platforms that the Embassy of Nigeria in Tehran, Iran, has abandoned Nigerian nationals and departed the country due to the ongoing crisis with Israel.
“The Ministry categorically debunks these allegations and assures the public, particularly Nigerian citizens in Iran, that the Embassy of Nigeria in Tehran remains operational and committed to the welfare and safety of all Nigerian nationals in Iran. The consistent bombing in Tehran has, however, disrupted normal work schedules and forced staff to work remotely.”
The statement added that: “Given this unfortunate development, the Embassy is actively engaging with the Government of Armenia to grant access for the evacuation of Nigerians via Yerevan.
“Moreover, Nigerians in Iran requiring assistance are encouraged to contact the Embassy directly through its official emergency contacts:

The statement added that: “Nigerians in Iran are also advised to contact the various designated coordinators of the Nigerian Community in these three locations as earlier arranged.
“The Embassy has also advised members of the Nigerian Community to download the Iranian local messaging app, eitaa, and join the Nigerian group for regular updates.”
The statement further assured: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains vigilant in monitoring the situation and will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the interests of Nigerians worldwide.”

Zulum condemns Konduga terrorists’ attack, sympathises with victims

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, condemned the recent suicide attack carried out by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Konduga Local Government Area.
The attack, which occurred yesterday around 10:00 pm, targeted a night fish market, killing 12 people and leaving 18 others injured.
Zulum, in a statement by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, expressed grief over the incident, stating, “The barbaric acts committed by these terrorists are not only heinous but an assault on our shared humanity.”
He added, “This is a cowardly and barbaric attempt to instil fear in the people and undermine our collective resilience. The people of Borno are resilient, and we refuse to be cowed by terrorists.”
“I call on the people of Borno to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies. We should understand that community cooperation is vital in the fight against insurgency.
Zulum expressed condolences to the families of the victims, emphasising that all well-meaning citizens of Borno share in their pain.
“To the families who have lost loved ones, I extend my deepest sympathies and pray to Allah for the quick recovery of those who are injured,” Zulum said.
The governor also reassured residents that the government is working closely with security agencies to ensure the safety of the people and prevent future attacks.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa has lost his mother-in-law, Hajiya Zainab Hussain,
Hajiya Hussain who is the mother of Hajiya Munira Marwa, wife of Gen. Marwa, died in the early hours of Saturday 21st June 2025 in Abuja at the age of 76 years.
According to a statement by the family, the funeral prayer (Janazah) will take place today, Saturday 21st June 2025 at 2:00pm at the National Mosque, Abuja, followed immediately by interment at Gwarinpa Cemetery, Abuja.
The statement further read: “We pray that Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, grants her eternal rest, and admits her into Aljannatul Firdaus.
“Kindly remember the family in your prayers during this moment of grief.”
