NIGERIAN ARMY RESOURCE CENTRE CONCLUDES LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT COURSE FOR SECURITY AND MILITARY OFFICERS

The Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) concluded the fifth and final session of its Executive Leadership and Strategic Management Course. This intensive program, spanning from 23 September to 8 November, trained senior and mid-level officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigerian military, and other security agencies. The course, organised by NARC in collaboration with the EFCC, aligns with NARC’s vision to be a leading think tank focused on research, knowledge advancement, and sustainable development solutions.

The graduation ceremony was graced by Major General Garba Ayodeji Wahab (Rtd), Director General of NARC, and the EFCC Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Hassan Hamman-Joda, representing the EFCC Chairman, Executive Director Consult, Major General AS Ndalolo, management staff of NARC, and consultants. Highlights included the presentation of certificates to the course participants, souvenir presentations to dignitaries and resource persons, and the decoration of key NARC figures with the EFCC Crest as Ambassadors for Anti-Corruption. The event took place at Hall F, ML Agwai Block, NARC.

Forest guard arrested for allegedly killing son in Monguno, Borno

A member of the Forest Guard in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State has been arrested for allegedly shooting his son to death.

Sources said the incident occurred on Feb. 13 at about 5:40 p.m. at the RRR Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Monguno.

The case was reported to the Monguno Division at about 6:20 p.m. by Maidugu Mustapha of Gana Ali Ward, who alleged that Mohammed Ibrahim Angoli, 28, a Forest Guard member, fatally shot his 24-year-old son, Ajiya Mustapha, in the back with an AK-47 rifle.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Monguno led a patrol team to the scene, where photographs were taken and the victim was evacuated to General Hospital, Monguno.

A medical doctor on duty confirmed the victim dead on arrival. The corpse was subsequently deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The suspect has been arrested and the firearm recovered as exhibit.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Maiduguri, has commenced investigation into the incident.

Woman kidnapped in Jos South LGA, search operation launched

A woman was abducted from her residence in Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, prompting a manhunt by security operatives.

Sources said the incident occurred on Feb. 13, 2026, at about 8:30 a.m., when unknown gunmen reportedly stormed the home of Mrs. Geoffrey in the Gura-Topp area. Mrs. Geoffrey is the wife of Wing Commander Geoffrey, who serves in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The assailants reportedly whisked her away to an unknown location.

Following the report, security teams immediately combed the surrounding bushes and deployed additional personnel to the area in a bid to locate the victim.

Authorities confirmed that investigation has commenced, with search and rescue efforts ongoing to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted woman and the apprehension of the perpetrators.

DPO who died fighting bandits in Katsina buried amid tears

The late Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rimi, CSP Mohammed Sani Sagir Maude, who was fatally shot while repelling an armed bandit attacka, was laid to rest amid tears and mourning in Katsina State.

CSP Maude lost his life on Feb. 13, 2026, during a fierce gun battle with suspected armed bandits at Karare bush in Rimi Local Government Area.

The operation followed an attack on Magaje Village, where the bandits had mounted an offensive against residents.

Sources said that in the course of the encounter, three of the bandits were neutralised, four magazines and stolen livestock were recovered, and the DPO’s colleagues engaged in intense gunfire to secure the area.

Unfortunately, CSP Maude was shot in the head, while Insp. Nasir Haruna sustained injury to his hand.

The remains of the gallant officer were deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, for postmortem before his burial. Community members, colleagues, and family gathered to pay their last respects, with many visibly mourning his sacrifice.

Residents in the area described CSP Maude as brave and committed, emphasising that efforts to apprehend the fleeing bandits and recover his missing service rifle are ongoing.

The command assured that intensified operations would continue to rid the area of criminal elements.
