Nigerian Refugees: 50 Households comprising of 300 people repatriated

The repatriation of refugees from the Minawao Refugee Camp in Mokolo Far North Region of Cameroon resumed with the proposed return of 50 (Fifty) Households to Banki town of Bama Local Government Area, Borno State.
While having an interim meeting with officials of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) Cameroon Office, on Friday the 9th of August 2024, the Chairman of the Borno State Sub- Committee on Repatriation Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe assured the Head of office Madam Kimberly Robinson that the Borno State Government is committed to resettlement of all its people and will continue to support the process.
The team, later proceeded to the camp and interfaced with the refugees, assuring them of continuity and commencement of repatriation to Gwoza before assessing the situation in preparation for the movements which he described as Satisfactory.
Engr. Wakilbe was accompanied by Kyarimi Babakura of the Ministry of Local Government and Emirate affairs, among other officials.
