NSCDC Boss Says Time Has Come for Institute of Registered Administrative Managers to Assist in Building Worth Administrators

The Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi said the time has come to enhance the influence of the Institute of Registered Administrative Managers of Nigeria and position it as a key player in the country’s public and administrative sectors, building worthy administrators
Audi, made the statement after he was decorated as the Institute’s fourth president on Tuesday. He promised to boost the body’s role in shaping national policy and governance
The new president said: “I shall work hard to explore opportunities available to uplift the standards of the Institute and also make efforts to advance the quality of service and research to enhance the knowledge and administrative competencies in our quest for excellence for members and the general public.”
Audi however called for collaboration, insisting that to achieve these goals, all members need to actively contribute their ideas to expand the Institute’s influence across both public and private sectors.
He said: “We must collectively work towards advancing the quality of service, research, and administrative competence within the Institute.”
He also stressed the importance of improving the Institute’s research and service standards, noting that this is essential to driving progress in Nigeria’s bureaucratic framework.
He appealed for teamwork, saying, “I therefore solicit your support and collaboration through your active participation and contribution of ideas and insights as we make collective efforts to achieve the objectives of this noble Institute and accomplish our shared goals.
“Being a team player, I solicit your cooperation for a combined effort to drive the change we desire, to reposition the Institute for greater relevance in national discourse, public policy, and advocacy,” the president pledged.
A member of the governing council of the institute, Ohiemero Izegaegbe, in his welcome address, expressed confidence in the new leadership, urging the Council and incoming president to leave a lasting legacy by helping the Institute achieve charter status during their tenure.
Izegaegbe said: “We plead to the current members of Council and the incoming President that they will have their names written in indelible anal of history if the Institute attain a charter status during their tenure.”

Army troops repel bandits in Katsina, rescue teenage girl with gunshot wound

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in collaboration with the police repelled a bandit attack on Soro Daya village in Kankia Local Government Area.
Zagazola learn that the incident occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 19 when suspected bandits invaded the village.
The troops were promptly mobilized to the scene. On reaching Soro Daya junction, the team was confronted by the hoodlums, leading to a heavy gun duel.
“The bandits damaged the front tyre and side glasses of a police Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) patrol vehicle before retreating into the forest.
“One female victim, Nabiha Mani, aged 15, was rescued with a gunshot wound on her thigh. She was rushed to the Comprehensive Health Centre in Matazu for treatment and later referred to the Orthopaedic Hospital, Katsina, for further medical attention,” said the sources.

Troops neutralise armed militia in Plateau after failed escape attempt

Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have neutralised an armed militia in Plateau State after he attempted to disarm a soldier during an operation.
Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred on Sept. 5 during a follow-up operation to a hideout in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
A day earlier, on Sept. 4, troops had arrested the militia at Kaskra with an AK-47 rifle and 11 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to involvement in several criminal activities within Barkin Ladi and volunteered to lead troops to the hideout of his cohorts to recover weapons.
Sources said that while the search was ongoing at the hideout, the militia made a desperate attempt to snatch a soldier’s rifle in order to escape.
“He was swiftly overpowered and neutralised by the troops in the process,” one of the sources said.
The remains of the deceased suspect were deposited at a hospital morgue, while follow-up operations are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices and recover more weapons.
The sources reaffirmed military’s commitment to sustain the momentum against armed militias and other criminal elements in Plateau, stressing that no effort would be spared in restoring peace and stability across the Joint Operations Area.

Troops arrest terrorist informants, logistics suppliers in Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have arrested two suspected terrorist informants and logistics suppliers in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended on Sept. 4 during a fighting patrol to Yaka village by a quick response team.
The suspects, according to the source, are in troop custody for further investigation and action.
