NSCDC Gets Additional Uniform

An additional uniform has been unveiled for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
A statement on Saturday by the spokesman of the NSCDC, Olusola Odumosu said the uniform was introduced with the intention to improve the efficiency of the Corps.
According to him, the additional uniform was unveiled by the Minister at the Ministry of Interior in Abuja.
He said the new addition to the array of uniforms of NSCDC is made up of distinct navy blue trouser with a white top and a symbolic red collar.
The Minister was said to have stated that the additional uniform is to add value to the Corps and promote effective service delivery and general efficiency in it’s assigned mandates.
He said: “We are here today to unveil additional uniform to the set of uniforms already in use in NSCDC which the officers will wear only on Tuesday. The specificity of this has been displayed by the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi who has come out in the beautiful uniform we are commissioning today.”

The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, thanked the Minister of Interior for his unwavering support and encouragement at all time as demonstrated again by his approval to use the new sets of uniform.
The CG explained that, the idea of an additional set of uniform for the Corps was conceived by the Management to key into the rebranding agenda of the current administration and to introduce a unique office wear which will depict and reflect the true characteristic of the Corps which is civility, humility and integrity in service delivery. The uniform has been categorized as officer’s wear, number 5C.
Audi reiterated that, this set of uniforms stand out the Corps personnel and makes them unique and easily recognizable at any gathering and It is meant to further boost the morale, professionalism, pride, commitment, effectiveness and confidence of the Corps personnel and to clearly reflects the civility expected in the character of the Corps personnel. It also depicts a peace and protective Corps, committed to defending the defenceless.
“Let me at this juncture express my sincere gratitude to our father, the amiable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his gracious approval of this new set of uniforms for use by the Corps personnel. The Corps is eternally grateful for your avowed commitment to the growth, development and effective delivery of the Corps’ mandate. May Almighty Allah continue to guide and protect you as you discharge the onerous responsibilities of your office and service to your fatherland” Audi was quoted as saying.
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, thanked the Minister for his approval of the additional uniform and appreciated the CG for taking the lead amongst the agencies in the ministry of Interior to look smarter and sharper in the discharge of their duties.

Nine Injured in Kwali Farmers–Herders Clash

Nine persons sustained machete injuries in a clash between Bassa farmers and Fulani herders in Gomoni Village, Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the fight, which broke out on Aug. 9 at about 3:30 p.m., followed alleged destruction of melon and maize farms belonging to the Bassa community by cattle.
It was gathered that the Nigeria army troops
along with joint team of operatives, and vigilantes were deployed to the scene following a distress call.
Six Bassa and three Fulani victims with varying degrees of machete cuts were taken to Rhema Foundation Hospital, Kwali, for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the situation had been brought under control and normalcy restored, while investigation was ongoing.

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday attended the wedding fatiha of Aisha, daughter of Shehu Aliyu, an Executive Director with First Bank of Nigeria, and Muhammad Jalal, son of former Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, Talban Minna, at the National Mosque, Abuja.
The solemnisation, led by the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Dr. Muhammad Kabir Adam, alongside other Imams, featured prayers for the couple’s blessings.
Vice President Shettima stood in for the bride, while Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu represented the groom, culminating in the presentation of the dowry and the formal tying of the marital knot.
The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including former Vice President Namadi Sambo, former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, former Minister of Special Duties Kabiru Turaki, Katsina State Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, the Emir of Borgu, Niger State, Muhammad Sani Dantoro among many others.

Unidentified visitor dies suddenly at Niger Government House Lodge

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of an unidentified man who collapsed and died at Government House Lodge, Minna. Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred on Friday, Aug. 2, 2025.
Sources said that the deceased had visited House No. 8, Government House Lodge, in an attempt to see Mr. Sammy, Chairman of Niger Foods. However, upon meeting his host’s absence, the man suddenly took ill.
Medical doctors were reportedly contacted from the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna, for urgent attention. Unfortunately, by the time the doctor arrived, the man had already passed away.
Following the report, a team of police operatives from GRA Division visited the scene. The body was photographed and evacuated to the IBB Specialist Hospital Mortuary for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
