NYSC: 1,500 corps members to report to Orientation camp in Gombe

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it has on Tuesday deployed 1,500 corps members to Gombe State for the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation programme.

Ms Margaret Dakama, the scheme’s Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday in Gombe, said the corps members were expected to report at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Amada Community between March 18 and April 7.

She said, in a statement, that the registration of the corps members would begin on March 18 while the swearing-in ceremony would hold on March 23, 2022.

The spokesperson urged the corps members to adhere strictly to all COVID-19 protocols before, during and after the orientation course.

“This is to inform the general public that Management of National Youth Service Corps has approved the conduct of the 2022 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course.

“About one thousand five hundred (1500) prospective corps members have been deployed and are expected to report at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State,” she said.

She added that no one would be allowed into the camp without passing through the COVID-19 screening and testing at the camp gate, hence, she urged the prospective corps members to ensure compliance.
She assured that proper arrangements had been made to ensure COVID-19 rapid diagnostic testing of participants before entry into the camp.

Dakama prayed for a hitch-free orientation course and urged stakeholders to cooperate with the scheme.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members on Tuesday concluded their orientation course.

A total of 1,037, 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members comprising 346 females and 691 males were posted to various communities across Gombe State for their primary assignment.
