One year in office: Mutfwang suspends two commissioners, swap others

The Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the immediate suspension of four key officials including two commissioners from his cabinet.
A statement by his director of press Gyang Bere stated that the affected commissioners include Chrysanthus Dawam, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, and Jamila Tukur, Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality.
Also affected is Dio Lamul, Special Adviser on Rural Development, and Moses Sule, Liaison Officer for Mikang Constituency.
The director of Press and Public Affairs stated that the suspension takes immediate effect.
This reporter recalls that it’s been a year this week since the commissioners in the state were sworn into office by the Governor but some of them have not been able to meet up to the expectations of the people.
Meanwhile Governor Mutfwang, has approved a minor reshuffle of his cabinet to enhance effective service delivery to citizens of the state.
Under the new dispensation, Noel Nkup, the Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, will now serve in the Youth and Sports Development ministry.
Whily Bashir Datti, who previously held the position of Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has been reassigned into the Water Resources and Energy ministry.
The changes in the portfolio of the two commissioners will take immediate effect said the statement.
