A tragic incident occurred in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, where a pastor was attacked, and one person was killed during a rescue attempt.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that Pastor Amusa James Maren of Laka Manguna District was ambushed by suspected armed herders while returning home from Daffo Market on April 1.

The attackers beat the pastor and threw him into a mining pit near a river between Josho Village in Daffo District and Tahore Village in Manguna District.

On April 2, villagers from Tamiso Tuje heard the pastor’s cries for help and rushed to his aid. However, as they attempted to rescue him, gunmen opened fire, fatally shooting 44-year-old Kuchai Isah.

The Police in Plateau responded swiftly, arresting two suspects connected to the attack. Security has been strengthened in the area, and investigations are ongoing.
