” We all know that the northeast, Borno state inclusive has been the epicentre of insurgency accounting for displacement of persons, loss of lives and property. Consequently, concerted efforts are being made by international non governmental organizations INGOS, local NGOs Governments at all levels, the security agencies, well meaning individuals, Philanthropists as well as religious organizations to rebuild confidence and
restore lost hope amongst the people.
“Beside, several billions of naira were invested by the state Governments to rebuild destroyed homes in order to resettle the people. We therefore condemn in strongest terms all attitudes that will hinder the relative peace that is being enjoyed in the state.
“We call for maturity, responsibility patriotism and a sense of well being amongst citizens of Borno State. Borno state belongs to all of us,let me quote MajorGen. Muhammadu Buhari in1984:” This generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we must remain here and salvage it together”.
” Similarly, we have no other state than Borno, if we destroy it, we will leave with the ruins. If we build it, together we should enjoy the beauty of it. The Borno state women of the police community committee hereby
enjoin all Borno indigenes and all residents from all every works of life to promote peace and love,to support the police and all other security agencies,in the onerous task to return Borno to its once peaceful State.
“We all Know that without peace business will not thrive, people would continually leave in fear. The business of all and sundry is to tell us how to achieve peace in Borno, end poverty, boast the economy of the state and develop
strategies that can lead us to the path of progress and prosperity.” Said the coordinator.
