Police Arrest 22 Foreign Nationals Without Valid Documents in Nasarawa

The Police in Nassarawa has arrested 22 foreign nationals during a raid in New Karu Local Government Area for allegedly residing in the country without valid immigration documents.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the arrest followed a tip-off received by the Area Commander of New Karu, leading to a raid on a three-bedroom flat located at Ibro Block, New Karu, on April 10 at about 1:00 p.m.

The sources said that the arrested suspects included nationals from Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. They include 14 men and 8 women, aged between 20 and 45 years.

Among them are Amidu Dau, 23; Youssouf Diarra, 28; Amadou Ba, 27; Samba Gadyaga, 20; Oumarou Bari, 45 — all from Mali; and Fatoumaya Ouedraga, 20; Aicha Toure, 20; Safiatou Banba, 24; Djamila Dao, 25; Doumbia Ismael, 30; Aroune Kone, 24; and Dao Samassi, 26 — all from Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.

Others arrested include Seydou Kassoungue, 21; Moussa Diallo, 23; Fatim Kouyate, 21; Abi Bembele, 26; Mamadou Fane, 22; David Kone, 28; Konate Tchemoko, 20; and Amadou Dao, 28.

Preliminary investigations revealed that none of the suspects possessed valid travel or immigration documents permitting their stay in Nigeria.

The police sources said all the suspects are undergoing further investigation, and appropriate actions will be taken in collaboration with relevant immigration authorities.

Plateau: 25 Killed, 4 Injured in Armed Attack on Bassa Community

At least 25 persons have been confirmed dead and four others injured following a deadly attack by armed men on Kimakpa Village in Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident, which occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on Monday, was reported by residents of the community who alerted security agencies that the attackers stormed the village and began shooting sporadically.

A combined troops of the Nigerian Army led by the Sector Commander, the Police, and the Police Mobile Force stationed at Miango responded swiftly to the distress call, engaged the attackers, and repelled the assault.

Following the gun duel, a search of the area led to the recovery of 25 corpses, while four injured victims were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The troops have commenced manhunt for the perpetrators, with extensive combing of nearby forests underway. Additional deployments have also been made to the affected area to forestall further attacks.

Cultists ambush security teams in Anambra, gun duel results in one patrol vehicle set ablaze

An ambush by suspected cult members, resulting in a gun duel with security teams dispatched to prevent an attack on the palace of HRH Igwe Maduaguna Ezekwesilli of Oba-Ofemili.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident began after a complaint, informing authorities of a group of cultists were mobilizing to attack the palace of the igwe.

In response, the Nigerian troops and a police teams from the Anti-Cultism Squad and were immediately deployed to the area. The teams arrested a suspected cult leader, and during a search of his residence, two pump action guns and live cartridges were recovered.

However, as the security teams were retreating from the community, they were ambushed by the suspected cult members. The hoodlums engaged in a gun duel, setting the army’s gun truck on fire before escaping with the arrested suspect and the recovered exhibits.

One soldier, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was wounded during the confrontation and was transported to the hospital for treatment by the Igwe.

Police rescue five kidnapped victims, one dead in gun duel with bandits in Katsina

Police in Katsina have rescued of five kidnapped victims following a gun duel with suspected armed bandits in Sabon Garin Safana, Dutsinma LGA.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the bandits had kidnapped seven individuals, including two children, in the early hours of April 13, 2025.

The sources said that at approximately 2:15 AM, the armed bandits infiltrated the community and abducted the victims.

Upon receiving the distress call, security personnel quickly mobilized to the scene, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle. The officers successfully rescued five victims, including Abdullahi Usman, 40, Asma’u Abdullahi, 20, Safiya Abdullahi, 1, Sumayya Yahuza, 20, and Fatima Yahuza, 1, all of whom were unharmed.

However, during the confrontation, one of the victims, Ibrahim Sale, 30, was tragically shot and killed by the bandits.

The search and rescue operation continues as authorities work to locate and free the remaining two victims.
